Consider Joining the FSNE Steering Committee or Network Team – Call for Applicants!

As our network moves into its second decade and evolves to meet the challenges and opportunities of our time, we invite New England farmers, fishermen, food-related educators, business people, nonprofit and agency staff, activists, and advocates to consider being part of creating a vibrant, sustainable, just and resilient food system that works for everyone in our region.

Food Solutions New England (FSNE) is pleased to invite applications to join the Steering Committee and/or Network Team. These teams serve New England by stewarding the regional FSNE network, cultivating greater connectivity and alignment around the FSNE Vision and Values, supporting or initiating collaborative actions to advance FSNE, and more. Read more about FSNE’s Vision, Mission and desired impacts here.

Joining the Steering Committee or Network Team provides you and your organization with a unique opportunity to meet, learn from and collaborate with food systems leaders and organizations from across the region; align with a regional vision, values, and strategies for improving the food system; leverage the FSNE network to support organizational goals; deepen understanding about timely food systems issues; and participate in conversations that can yield new insights and emergent possibilities.

Yes, historically people on the Steering Committee (previously known as the “Process Team”) were drawn from active Network Team membership, as those people often had the most in-depth knowledge of FSNE’s efforts, values and goals. That is still often the case, but in 2018 we began to experiment with adding some Steering Committee members who had not been a part of the Network Team. In summary, the Steering Committee is made up of members who are a) only on the Steering Committee (but who are encouraged to attend Network Team meetings for connectivity and information exchange) and b) on both the Steering Committee and the Network Team.
