In 2020, FSNE convened a team of network participants and allies to create a compelling and inspiring submission to the Rockefeller Food Vision Prize team. While not chosen as one of the “final ten” to receive funding and other resources, the FSNE submission made it to the final 72 out of more than 1,100 total submissions from around the world.
As with many things in our network, the process of creating our submission proved to be just as important, if not more so, than the product itself. The ability to bring current, past, and aspiring network members together as writers, readers, reviews, and advisors built on a key strength of FSNE: the power to paint a positive picture of a food future worth fighting for. We’ve been blessed to have some of the most profoundly talented and passionate people in the regional food system be part of our journey for the past decade, and the process of creating our collaborative submission for this Prize was no exception.
Please take some time to scan through this condensed version of our FSNE Rockefeller Food Vision Prize submission. Our many collaborators are listed at the beginning. In this case, both the product and the process remind us how we will always be better together when it comes to building a just, sustainable, and resilient food system for New England.
