With the interest in local food booming, the NH Food Alliance is answering the call for more connection and collaboration within the Granite State food system. On Tuesday, November 17th the NH Food Alliance will convene a statewide gathering with new and existing network participants to share its forthcoming publication of the Farm, Fish, and Food Enterprise Viability Initiative, celebrate the exciting work happening on food-related topics, and spark new collaborations within the Granite State.
Over the last three years, the NH Food Alliance has been laying the foundation for a robust network aimed at building a food system that works for all in the Granite State. The Viability Initiative, the first collaborative effort of the NH Food Alliance, is designed to strengthen food enterprises throughout the state by focusing the network’s efforts within four main areas: Education, Market Development, Land and Sea Resources and Access, and Food Accessibility. The NH Food Alliance works together with a broad range of key players including the NH Department of Agriculture, Markets, & Food; HEAL NH; NH Food Bank; NH Community Loan Fund; and many others.
The Statewide Gathering will begin with opening remarks from Lorraine Merrill, NH Commissioner of Agriculture, Markets, & Food, followed by inspirational stories from food entrepreneurs. The event will include opportunities for attendees to network and expand their knowledge of ongoing projects within the food system.
The event is free and open to the public. Space is limited, so please register at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/G9TYRLW. For more information about the event, visit us on the web at http://nhfoodstrategy.weebly.com/upcoming-events.html.
