This report explores the injustices caused by decades of agricultural consolidation, including a history of how the sector consolidated; an examination of the scale of the problem; the specific impact on farmers, rural communities, the climate crisis, and the environment; and a look at how powerful industry groups continue to influence laws and regulations in their own favor. Finally, we will look at alternatives to the status quo and how to build a decentralized climate-neutral farm and food system that prioritizes food producers, rural economic health, and the environment over corporate profits.
